The Wolf of Hazzard County

Anyone who knows me knows that the blood of all things DOH and Hazzard County runs through me. Everything I do just about if not every day has Hazzard in it, ever since that grand day when I discovered the shell of a 70 Charger that became the terror of Idaho, to now knows I eat , breathe and sleep Hazzard. I said it years ago, Hazzard County is not a place on earth but a place of the heart and soul. As the education that DOH launched in myself in looking after my own southern heritage, to busting my hump without and not for financial compensation but for the love of not only what DOH was but for what Hazzard County is today. But many ask me where this Wolf thing hit.

About the time DOH went off air, my mind got tangled with a new TV show called AirWolf. My affection for flying took over. However understand too, I was in the Marines, a goof up in paperwork with DOD, took me from being a flightline mechanic to putting me into SAR for the infamous VMA214.

I can’t today remember what caused it, but one day a Flight Deck supervisor said ,

“son you are the wolf in amongst the sheep” Since the 214 being the BlackSheep. A few years later while doing my job at Deseret Transportation in Salt Lake City , my floor supervisor was walking through the shop with some big wig of the LDS church that owns Deseret Transportation, also saw me there with Skoal between cheek and gum, big coffee, he also said , “ Son You are a wolf in amongst these sheep” The two things stuck.

Now my radio career was enhanced when legendary radio personality WolfMan Jack told me to get busy with my endeavors, in that he felt I had talent and the kind of drive that radio needed, even then, this was just before I went in the UCSMC . Shortly after during my reserve duty, I had started much of my then radio shows for Dixie Diesel Radio the father of HazzardAyre, as the RodeWolf. Then in 2002 living in Layton Utah did a volunteer gig at AFRN there at HAFB MARS station and reworked the RodeWolf thing into AyreWolf.

And that’s the howl on that, have been the wolf here ever since. Perhaps I always have been. I’m proud to be the person here that does not suck the hind teat, of the establishment, I’m happy to be the one soldier fighting the system, and correcting attitudes and thoughts of so many that are to scared of stepping forth but will cheer me on air and online.

Here is The Magic(Tragic) Valley Twin Falls Idaho and immediate area. Where some men are men, some women are still women, the sheep are worried and I am the Wolf in amongst those Sheep.
