A Wolf With a Story

wolf dawnWOLF WITH A STORY

You try to pull out , but it keeps pulling you back in. Tragedy grips all our lives from death due to mayhem, or that in which someone takes their own life.

A simple joy ride and a couple friends go for a fast and furious ride, and the two end up becoming yesterdays soldier that rides away, into the sunset as memories. Then there are those that get so fed up with coming to a dead end, trying to be to all others yet failing to just be at peace with ones self, decides the odds are not worth the effort and jumps from the big bridge of Twin Falls. Times you try to be accepted into the tribe and collective that is the city of Twin Falls, yet get just about every door not only closed , but double slammed in your face. There is just so much of the kiss ass one does , substituting dignity for popularity that you reach a spot and say hey why stay breathing? Might as well join Jesus a lot sooner than expected. Loneliness , boredom , low income, no adult social activities except bars that compounds the lonely factor all contribute to saying I’m checking out. Oh don’t expect the local houses of worship, or clergy to come to the door when you need them the most, do one thing at church, get mad at just one person there in the house of God where forgiveness and love no matter gender or social status should abound, nope don’t expect that.

I’m blessed, I have the brotherhood of both the Knytes-of-Anarchy and AyreWolvez, plus the friendship of Charlie , but even I go through those hours where I say is this all there is.

Sure Idaho claims to have this love for others and all yet Idaho ranks one of if not the number 1 state in the Union for suicides, and yet despite that you’ll get the same people who say it’s a tragedy not really wanting to get involved. You can look at this from two ends, and it comes to the same conclusion.

There’s an old man that I’ll bet a root beer, is knocking on at least 70 years old. He looks like he’s not ate, or had the ability to clean up for weeks. You know he’s not carrying big rolls of cash. His big thing of the day , a big coffee at the Twin Stop across the street. I have numerous times, bought this old man that cup of coffee even a McDonalds breakfast.

On the flip side, and one I can relate to all too well. My friend Charlie, has a son named Jared. Who runs a big towing service here. He walks around most days like little lord Fauntleroy. Thing is, if something ever happened to Charlie, that fortune could be lost in an instant, and young Jared, be in the same place I am today.

I once had it all as well. My parents just prior to their retirement from military duty at Hill Air Force Base in Utah in 1970, invested with two others in a bottom tier of a thing that would become Flying J Inc. Husky Oil Company which My Dad owned 40% of along with my moms 4rth cousin, whose son is part owner of AyreWolf Aviation(more on that in another article) . Over the years that money, along with other investments kept me in clover. We had a huge house, I had things and did things that many could only want to do. The end results? Flying J got in a bankruptcy thing, sold to Pilot Travel Centers, which I’m still waiting on my pay off on that, and an investment in an annuity that got squirreled up when the powers that be with that annuity got caught with the grubby little fingers in the cookie jar. Net results, outside of $5,000.00 already paid, still looking for the rest of that $400,000.00 to be paid to me. Bottom line, I live on SSI and what little money I get through a stipend from the Knytes. It can all be gone in a flash and your looking for a life saver or at least a rescue rope. Sometimes that rope is you yourself.

That’s why I had to take a serious look at myself, where I’m at and rather than curl up and die, decided to make things so as I can get my Wolf-Pack and me out of here.

But some are not so lucky, many have no resources financial, or family. During this Christmas season, when your all out there giving gifts, and trying to love each other how about doing something good for one not as lucky as yourself. Like paying a cable TV bill for one down and out? Or a gas card for a full tank of fuel. How about fixing a car, or cleaning a house? A home cooked meal, or even something as mundane as going to that person and sitting down and reading scripture? My Mom used to say, the bird that flys too high ends up in a pile of manure. The translation? When you start thinking your so grand, is about when the lord pulls that magic carpet from out under you.

Like I said it can happen to you.

Quote of the Day:
Show me a thoroughly satisfied man, and I will show you a failure.
--Thomas Edison
John 1:1-2, 14“[The Word Became Flesh] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”
